Collision is when your vehicle strikes another object or vehicle. Collision insurance pays for the resulting damages to your vehicle less any applicable deductible you may have on your policy.

Comprehensive Coverage is coverage intended to protect you and pay for damages to your vehicle against loss or damage resulting from fire, theft, windstorm, vandalism, etc., but usually not to include loss by collision or upset (i.e., roll over) other than colliding with an animal.

Deductible is the amount of the loss in which you, the insured, must first pay before the company pays the balance of the damages sustained from an accident or incident.
