Claims Process
Time it takes to Handle The Claim

The amount of time required to handle each claim varies based on the severity of the damage, the number of parties involved and other factors. It is in your best interest when we spend time up-front reviewing and gathering the facts concerning your claim and determining the right type of investigation needed. Some claims may be simple enough to handle in a short period of time, however others are more complex and require careful and thorough research in order to help protect your interests. It is also very important that you make sure to provide your claim representative with your current whereabouts so they may reach you during the investigation of the claim.

Vehicle Appraisals and Inspections

If your vehicle is not safe to drive then an Independent appraiser will be hired by your claim representative to come to your vehicle’s location to estimate the damages. The majority of field inspections are done within a week. You need to advise the appraiser of the repair facility, of your choice, so they may obtain an agreed appraisal price. If your repair shop discovers additional damages after starting the repairs, the appraiser will re-inspect your vehicle and determine if additional payment is warranted.

Total Loss Vehicle

In order for the claim representative to determine if your vehicle can be repaired, an appraiser will have to inspect your vehicle. If the inspection indicates or determines that the vehicle cannot be repaired, we will settle your vehicle as a total loss. The payment for your loss will be based on the vehicle’s Actual Cash Value (ACV), up to the policy limits, minus any applicable deductible.

Taking Steps to Prevent Further Damage or Loss

It is important that you take steps to help prevent further damage(s) to your vehicle or property. Failure to do so could impact your claim payment. Some examples to prevent further damage to your vehicle is as follows:

In most cases, your policy deductible will be waived if the glass can be repaired instead of replaced. Also in some states, your deductible is waived for glass replacement, see your policy or ask your claim representative.
